Vampira Statue 1/6 Queen of the Ghouls 43 cm

COD: 001_QST913463 Categoria:

Vampira, even if you don’t know the name you certainly know the look. In 1953 a young aspiring actress, Maila Nurmi, needed a costume for an upcoming masquerade party. She drew upon a comic strip of cartoonist and illustrator Charles Addams. The yet unnamed character of Mrs. Addams struck Ms. Nurmi as the perfect look for the party and so she set about creating her own version of the character’s dress. That was the day that Vampira was born and with her a new style in beauty, the gothic queen.

In a time when most actresses were blond with sun kissed skin, Vampira was every bit the opposite. Ink black hair with pale skin and very little makeup except for blood red lips, high arching eyebrows, and exceeding long fingernails. Wearing a sheer, form fitting full-length dress with sleeves torn into strips up to the elbows and long ‘tendrils’ extending from the hemline, Vampira was certainly unique, and she caught the attention of everyone, including a local television producer.

That chance encounter with the television producer led her to star in various movies and hosting her own late night television show. Vampira soon became the talk of the town, being seen driven around Hollywood in a 1932 Packard touring car by her larger-than-life chauffeur. She certainly turned heads but after the initial shock, most people, even little children, were more curious than frightened of her and her quick wit made her even more endearing. Maila Nurmi’s sense of style and humor has had lasting effects on our culture and hints of her influence can still be seen today.

Sideshow and Quarantine Studio are proud to introduce the 1:6 scale collectible of this iconic character. Standing atop a round base with woodgrain texture and surrounded by her very own stylistic skulls with an aged red leather button tuck top, Vampira strikes one of her famous poses. You can almost hear her calling to you with some ghoulish yet whimsical prose. Quarantine Studios worked with Vampira Coffin Holdings, LLC and Chris Wooten to bring this sculpture to you. Chris has captured every detail of Ms. Nurmi’s look as Vampira. It’s all there from her high arching eyebrows and super small waist wrapped in her trademark skintight dress down to her custom heels that no ghoul could do without.

If you’re a fan of classic horror, then this is the statue for you. Don’t miss your chance to order yours today!
